International Munich Art Lab – IMAL

International Munich Art Lab – (IMAL) is a collective term for the artistic and cultural activities of the organisation Kontrapunkt gGmbH and a testing ground for participatory projects. We combine artistic work, youth work and professional qualification. IMAL is a project platform for a variety of projects in the areas of visual art, new media art and urban art.

IMAL is cultural and educational youth work that combines art, creativity, education and life skills, enabling participation in society by building on strengths. We give teenagers and young adults from different social, cultural and educational backgrounds the opportunity to work together on projects and to grow personally.
The BASIS is to empower young people to use their expert knowledge, from the initial outline concept and throughout the entire process of artistic production to the professional presentation – accompanied and supported by pedagogues and artists. 
The GOAL is to provide general and vocational training, bolster self-confidence, improve individual career opportunities and to make cultural education accessible.
IMAL – projects for everyone – inclusive, multilingual, cross cultural, cross generational and transnational.
